Ingredients & Measurements:

  • 1 head of cauliflower
  • 1/2 tsp organic coriander powder
  • 6 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 1/4 tsp organic cumin powder
  • 6 cloves garlic chopped
  • 1/8 tsp organic black pepper powder
  • 1/2 cup fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 1/2 inch ginger, chopped
  • 1 green chilly
  • Pink Salt to taste

These ingredients are measured to provide enough dish for a family of 4 members. If you want to prepare more gobhi masala recipe for, say, six or eight members, then you can increase the measurements of all the ingredients proportionately to get the best possible taste. Always try to use the organic and hand-grounded spices to get the authentic Indian taste.

Method:

  1. Heat up the pan and pour small amount of oil according to the volume of onions and tomatoes.
  2. First add the chopped onions and garlic and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes.
  3. Add the tomatoes and sprinkle all the spices except the coriander and cook for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Once it done, cool it a bit and blend it into a coarse paste
  5. Cut off the base of the cauliflower, sprinkle salt and steam the whole head for 5 mins.
  6. In a baking dish, put 1/4 of the sauce, then the cauliflower upturned and drizzle the remaining sauce ensuring it goes inside the stalks.
  7. Bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes or till a fork pieces the cauliflower easily.
  8. Remove it from the microwave and your gobhi masala recipe is ready.
  9. Garnish it with fresh coriander leaves before serving hot.
